You Scored the game winning goal in the premier against Kalix in OT, what are your thoughts about that game?
I thought we had a solid game as a team. Adjusting to a new season in the first game is always tough, but we got two points and that’s something to be happy about. We have a lot of positives to build on, and some negatives to fix. Getting the gwg was a team effort. My 3 teammates on the ice did a great job moving the puck around, and Pontus was in a perfect screen for the shot. More than one player gets the puck in the net. All in all, we took points in the first game and will keep pushing for more.
You had a solid defense, and a blinding offense but you had trouble getting the puck over the line, why?
We created plenty of chances to score, but we just didn’t get the bounces. Kalix has a talented goalie, and we also hit a lot of posts. Hockey is a game of momentum, and if we keep moving the puck and getting our shots you will start to see more and more goals. Nothing to worry about here.
Lessons learned from that game?
Stick to our game plan and things will go our way. It’s always tough to lose a point in the final minutes of the game, but you learn to accomplish those things in time. What’s important is we took 2 points, and now we focus on Kiruna.
Kiruna AIF is up next on Wednesday in the Home ice premier, we’ve played against them once away already and won 4-1. This was before you joined the team so what do you know about them?
From what I’ve heard, Kiruna AIF plays a physical game. We will attack them with speed and try to take advantage of odd man opportunities. At the end of the day, we make teams play our brand of hockey, not the other way around. Who we play doesn’t really matter. We play our game and expect to win.
On an other matter, nick names. You’ve been called alot of names by different, commentators. Two of these are Big Bolton and Bomber Bolton of Boden. But have you gotten a nick name by your teammates yet?
Haha yea the nicknames have been interesting, but on a daily basis I go by Bolts. Jake obviously works as well, but hockey nicknames are usually pretty straightforward.
